Art Club

Art Club meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:00-4:15. All first through eighth grades are welcome to join. The cost is only $20.00 to cover supplies. Each month we explore a new medium and technique. It is an open studio for students to explore their creative sides and learn about art and themselves.

Art Club January Project
The 3rd graders of St. Michael's are heading a collection for the troops in Afghanistan. The Art Club wanted to send a contribution to express our gratitude for their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication. Each child created their own symbol out of fabric, to represent how they feel about the soldiers, and adhered them to nylon flags. The flags are being sewn together into a banner of peace and love for the soldiers who dedicate their lives to protect us each day.

Art Club February Project
The students create Mardi Gras Masks during the meeting and modeled them at the end of class!

Running Club
Running Club is open to any student in fifth through eighth grade, no matter how fast or slow. We meet after school one afternoon a week during the fall semester and run until 4 o'clock. Sometimes we run the block around school and other weeks we venture out to the trails of Wehner Park, the City Center, or we tackle the hill at Ackfeld Park. Runners can come out every week or intermitently as their schedule allows. Running Club lets kids work on their running in a laid-back, noncompetitive atmosphere, and it is a great way to unwind after a long day behind the desk!
