St. Michael's Little Angels is excited to become part of Holy Cross Academy. Holy Cross Academy offers preschool programs at each grade school location.
We offer preschool for 3 -5 year olds. Children must be 3 by Oct. 31 and independent in the bathroom, to start in August.

PRESCHOOL

At Holy Cross Academy, we strive to accommodate each child as the special and unique individual that he/she is. Our curriculum is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Each child will progress through the curriculum at their own rate and will be challenged. We believe that children "learn by doing", and we will provide activities that will stimulate their curiosity and creativilty. We will strive to foster a positive self-image, build self-esteem and stimulate each child's intellectual, social, emotional and physical development.

ENROLLMENT AGE

Holy Cross Preschool programs are open to three, four and five year olds. Children enrolling in preschool should be three prior to Oct. 31 to start the program in August. A child that turns three after October 31 will be welcomed upon availability and readiness skills. You can contact the Preschool Director about possible placement during the year. All children need to be fully independent in the bathroom and with personal needs. Classroom placement is at the discretion of the Preschool Director.

Learn to Love, Love to Learn

At Holy Cross, we believe early childhood education is an exciting and important time of life and emphasis should be placed on discovering, experiencing, and exploring. Our experienced staff and Christ-centered philosophy will help prepare your child for kindergarten by offering a well-rounded preschool program. Curriculum activities are designed to foster and facilitate each child’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development utilizing developmentally appropriate early childhood learning strategies. Our preschool program is open to three, four, and five year old children for full or half day experiences.

Preschool Information
Our Program is designed for 3, 4 and 5-year olds designed to foster and facilitate each child’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development utilizing early childhood learning strategies. We encourage various ways of learning to for individual development and growth in the following areas:
• Pre-reading concepts
• Beginning math concepts
• Religious instruction
• Music and movement
• Science and Nature
• Social Awareness
• Art
• Physical Education/Gross Motor Development
• Table Manners

Flexible Schedule
While or goal is for student development, we also feel that meeting family needs is an important aspect of the program. For that reason we offer a flexible schedule so that parents can design a schedule that best suits their family’s needs. Please contact the Director to discuss your individual needs.

Our preschool’s academic year starts in mid-August finishes the last week of May offering an extra several weeks during the school year. Our program allows for full-time or part-time learning with students being enrolled a minimum of two mornings each week up to five full days per week.

Program Schedule
7:30 am – 8:30 am Flexible start time
8:30 am – Noon:   Morning Session
Activities: group activities, Individual learning centers
Letter awareness, math concepts and bible stories,
Music and Movement, physical education/gross
motor development (a snack time and outdoor play are included) All students will eat lunch at school before dismissal at noon.  Students can bring lunch from home or purchase from the cafeteria.

Noon – 2:40 pm Afternoon Session
Activites: small group activites, outside play and rest time

3:00– 6:00pm Extended child care (additional fee)
Outside play, snack, story time, learning centers
