OASIS is all about working together as a team to help students build reading skills and developing positive attitudes toward learning. Senior adults volunteer 1/2 hour to an hour each week tutoring a student from kindergarten through 4th grade. Reading scores across the country have demonstrated that children who work with OASIS tutors improve their reading skills that help their academic achievement. OASIS is a very rewarding experience. Volunteers have expressed great satisfaction in being able to make a positive difference. A few quotes from our OASIS volunteers:
