PSR Begins Monday, August 30th
The PSR year begins on Monday, August 30th at 6:30 p.m. with a Student & Parent Information Night. The night starts with prayer in the church. Then the children will move into their classrooms to meet their catechists (religion teachers) while the parents remain in church to hear Rick Barnhardt (parent and religious educator) speak on the important role parents have in educating their children about our Catholic faith. Toward the end of the night parents will have the opportunity to meet their children's catechist. The night ends at 7:45 p.m. All students and at least one parent per family must attend this meeting.
PSR
Welcome to St. Michael's PSR ProgramOur PSR program provides education in our Catholic faith for children 1st through 8th grade who are attending schools without formal religious education as part of its curriculum. Our program offers instruction about our Catholic faith through text materials, prayer, activities, and class discussions. Our goal is to help each student strengthen his/her faith development while learning about the traditions of the Catholic Church. Sacramental preparation is an important part of our program with our second grade students preparing for First Reconciliation and First communion and our Eighth Grade students preparing for Confirmation in the spring months. We welcome parents and encourage them to be involved in their child’s religious education and be a living example of their faith through active parish involvement and regular church attendance. Classes are held in the school building and run during the academic year. We gather every Monday evening from 6:30pm – 7:45pm from August through May.
